Permanent switch to the GAMMA2 online service, replacing GAMMA

From 25 June 2025

Mark your calendars: from 25 June 2025, the GAMMA tele-service will be permanently replaced by GAMMA2.

This transition is part of the ongoing enhancement of customs digital tools and ensures alignment with the European Excise Movement and Control System (EMCS).

What is GAMMA and Why the Change?

 As a reminder, the GAMMA tele-service has so far enabled the tracking of movements of excise duty-suspended goods (alcohol, tobacco, petroleum products) through the issuance and clearance of e-ADs – Electronic Administrative Documents.

With GAMMA2, the customs administration is introducing an upgraded and modernised version of the service, offering:

 Improved traceability of excise goods movements;

 Stronger compliance with EMCS requirements;

 A more user-friendly interface with extended functionalities.

A key enhancement in this version is the ability to issue Simplified Accompanying Documents (DSA), which are used for movements of national goods under duty-paid arrangements, directly via GAMMA2.

New Feature: DSA Now Available

Key Dates to Remember:

25 June 2025:

Complete unavailability of both GAMMA and GAMMA2 tele-services

(no movement document can be issued on this day).

26 June 2025:

Full switchover to GAMMA2 for all users. From this date onward, all movement documents (e-AD/DSA) must be issued exclusively via GAMMA2.

What This Means for Users

No specific action is required from current users: the migration to GAMMA2 will be automatic.

However, users are encouraged to familiarise themselves with the new platform ahead of time to ensure a smooth transition.
